The one in charge of betting company Bet365 was paid more than ₤ 200m in simply one year, which is among the most significant wages ever granted in the UK.
The greatest paid director of Bet365 Group, believed to be founder Denise Coates, made a salary of ₤ 213.4 m in the year to March 2022.
She was likewise entitled to at least half of ₤ 100m in dividends, in spite of a fall in profits.
Bet365 did not right away react to the BBC's ask for remark.
But project groups such as the High Pay Centre hit out at the announcement, arguing it served as a reminder that "too much [money] is going to too few individuals" in the UK economy.
Its spokesperson Andrew Speke said: "It reveals if the government wished to supply higher support to those having a hard time and increase the pay of striking public sector workers dealing with real wage cuts, increasing tax on high earnings and wealth would be one of the most effective ways of moneying this."
Labour MP Carolyn Harris, who co-chairs a cross-party parliamentary group analyzing gambling-related damage, stated that losses made by users as costs are increasing "are paying for the big salaries of betting managers".
She got in touch with the federal government to bring forward its white paper on gambling and upgrade laws that have remained in place for decades.
Ms Coates established the Bet365 site in a portable building in Stoke-on-Trent more than 20 years ago. She is believed to be one of Britain's wealthiest women and among the best-paid managers in the world.
After training as an accounting professional she helped develop the group into one of the most significant online gambling business from her dad's bookmaking organization. Her bro is also co-chief executive.
