Rising Star Wisdom Mike Pens First Pro Deal with Bayern Munich
A highly-regarded Germany youth international of Nigerian heritage, Wisdom Mike, has signed his first professional contract with Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich.
The club confirmed in a statement on their official website that the 16 year old forward has extended his stay with the champions. Last season, Mike received a senior team call-up but remained on the bench as Bayern secured a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
This summer, he was in line to join the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, but had to withdraw due to academic commitments.
On Thursday, August 7, Mike made his first senior appearance, entering as a substitute during the final 14 minutes of Bayern’s 4-0 victory over UEFA Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur. He replaced newly signed Luis Díaz. He began his football journey in MSV Duisburg’s youth setup before moving to Bayern’s FC Campus through Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2022, at the age of 13.
Mike has featured for Bayern’s U19 side, including playing in the UEFA Youth League, and represented Germany at the 2025 European U17 Championship, where he scored against Albania in the group stage.
Noted for his blistering pace, excellent close control, and ambidextrous ability, he has drawn comparisons to Ousmane Dembélé for his rare two-footed dexterity.
