Heartland Queens’ Matthew Confident of Revival Against Remo Stars

Monica Matthew, Heartland Queens’ influential midfielder, has expressed confidence that her team is ready to turn their season around when they face Remo Stars Ladies in a crucial NWFL Premiership Matchday 4 encounter on Wednesday. The match will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Heartland Queens have endured a poor start to their campaign, securing only one point from a possible nine, but they are determined to reverse their fortunes. In contrast, their opponents, Remo Stars Ladies, have started strongly, accumulating seven points from their first three matches.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Matthew highlighted the team’s commitment and preparation ahead of the showdown. "Despite the poor results, I strongly believe that the league is a marathon, and I’m confident we will bounce back to winning ways starting with the encounter in Ikenne," she stated. She also acknowledged the hard work put into training and expressed hope that their efforts would pay off.

Matthew’s leadership has been instrumental, having scored the team’s only goal this season during their 2-1 loss to Edo Queens. As Heartland Queens currently sit in seventh place, her playmaking ability and determination will be critical in helping them climb the league table.

She remained optimistic, adding, "We have all it takes to secure the full points at stake. My teammates and I are fully committed to this task, and we believe this match will mark the beginning of our resurgence."

Fans are hopeful that Matthew’s determination will be translated into a much-needed victory when the two sides clash in Ikenne.
