Bayern Munich Signs Edna Imade, Sends Her on Loan to Real Sociedad
FC Bayern Munich Women have agreed a four‑year deal with Nigerian striker Edna Imade, securing her signature from Liga F side Granada until 30 June 2029. Having impressed with 16 goals in 29 appearances finishing as the Spanish league’s second top scorer she will spend the 2025–26 season on loan at Real Sociedad to continue her development.
Bayern’s women’s director, Bianca Rech, described Imade as "fast, physically strong and versatile in attack", praising her impressive season in Spain and the decision to loan her out "in consultation with her and those close to her".
Imade expressed immense pride, saying "I’m incredibly happy and proud to have signed my contract with FC Bayern Women… this step is one of the most important in my career so far… I can be deployed both in the centre and on the wings. I would describe myself as a strong header of the ball and finisher, and I’m also an absolute team player who always gives everything on the pitch".
Born on 5 October 2000 in Benin City and raised in Spain since childhood, Imade featured at youth clubs including Carmona, Santa Ana, AD Nervión, Málaga, and Cacereño before joining Granada in 2023. She made her top‑flight debut in September 2023 and went on to finish joint second‑top scorer in 2024–25, level with Alexia Putellas at 16 goals.
The loan move to Real Sociedad is viewed as strategic, allowing Imade to adapt to Liga F while gaining regular minutes. Bayern intends to integrate her into their squad upon her return.
