Chief of Air Staff Inaugurates Peace Soccer Tournament in Kano

The fourth edition of the Nigerian Air Force NAF Chief of Air Staff Peace Football Tournament was officially launched by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, at the Kano Pillars Stadium in Sabon Gari, Kano. Represented by Group Captain M. Sulaiman, the tournament’s purpose is to provide a platform for youth to showcase their talents, fostering unity among players and the broader community.



Dr. Ahmed Lawn Mon, President of the African Youth Sports Federation AYSOF and chairman of the tournament’s organizing committee, highlighted the event's role in promoting peaceful coexistence, unity, and discouraging social vices among youth, such as drug abuse and cultism. He commended Air Marshal Abubakar’s commitment to sponsoring the annual event.



The opening game ended in an exciting 2-2 draw between NAF Cobras FC Kano and the Nigerian Immigration Team. Emmanuel from NAF Cobras scored two goals in the first half, while Babandi and Mustapha Arise of the Immigration Team managed to level the score by the end of the match, creating a lively start to the tournament.
