Chido Obi Martin Joins Manchester United After Leaving Arsenal

Danish born Nigerian forward, Chido Obi Martin, has officially moved to Manchester United after departing Arsenal this summer. According to the club’s academy expert, the dual national centre forward is now a part of Manchester United’s youth setup.

The Red Devils have confirmed the completion of the Premier League's formal approval process regarding the transfer of Obi-Martin, following his successful medical and the finalisation of his contract.

Arsenal made significant efforts to retain the talented striker by offering him a scholarship and a professional contract. However, Obi Martin chose to begin a new journey at Manchester United. The Denmark U18 international joins United on a scholarship deal and will sign a professional contract when he turns 17 in November.

Manchester United's acquisition of Obi-Martin is considered a major coup, as they managed to outmanoeuvre interest from clubs like Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco, and Newcastle United. Even another top-six Premier League side expressed interest, but Obi Martin favoured Manchester United.

Last season, Obi Martin had an impressive campaign in the U18 Premier League, scoring 32 goals in 18 matches and setting a new record for the most goals scored in a season by an Arsenal U18 player.
